Buying DVC Resale Membership

Exceptional savings. We specialize in buying resale DVC points with zero stress. Depending on the resort, purchasing through The Timeshare Store, Inc.® can save you $50–$100+ per point compared to buying directly from Disney. Those upfront savings—combined with the long-term value of Disney Vacation Club ownership—can easily add up to tens of thousands of dollars over the life of your membership, all while enjoying the same world-class resorts, spacious villas, and magical Disney vacations you know and love.

Mostly, yes — but there are some restrictions. Resale points cannot be used for the Disney Collection or the Adventurer Collection, and they do not include “Membership Extras” such as member discounts or exclusive events. Resale points can be used at the 14 original DVC resorts, Interval International exchanges, and other eligible properties.

Note: Resorts opened after January 19, 2019 (e.g., Disney’s Riviera Resort, Villas at Disneyland Hotel, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness) have specific resale restrictions.

When buying resale DVC points, the right amount depends on your vacation habits—how often you travel, where you stay, and the time of year. Our team can help you estimate based on past trips and future plans.  We also offer a DVC point calculator to help you estimate the right contract size for your family and vacation needs.

Yes. Renting is a great way to “test drive” DVC before committing. Points generally rent for about $20 each (e.g., 90 points for a week at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas = $1,800). If you would like a free, no-obligation quote, click this link, and we will be happy to assist you with creating a custom DVC deluxe stay.

Yes. Eligible DVC Points can be used at the Grand Californian resort in Disneyland, the Aulani resort in Oahu, Hawaii, Disney’s Vero Beach resort in Florida, and Disney’s Hilton Head resort in South Carolina, as well as for exchanges worldwide through Interval International.

Typically, 3–5 weeks after buying resale DVC points and completing your closing, Disney processes the ownership transfer, and you’ll receive a membership number and can book online or through DVC Member Services or if you prefer to call and speak with member services, you’ll be able to call Disney directly and book and plan your vacations with them as well

When buying resale DVC points, your Use Year is the month your Disney Vacation Club points renew each year. It does not affect when you can make reservations. No matter which Use Year you own, you can book up to 11 months in advance at your Home Resort and up to 7 months in advance at other eligible DVC resorts from the date you’d like to check in.

Your Use Year does, however, determine your banking deadline. Points must be banked by the eighth month of your Use Year if you are planning not to use them for that given year.

Points must be banked by the deadlines below depending on your Use Year.

Not with resale. You can purchase as few as 25 points (which is typically the smallest deed Disney offers). Direct purchases require at least 150 points to qualify for Membership Extras.

Selling Your DVC Membership

No. We never charge listing, appraisal, or advertising fees. We only get paid when your property sells.

It varies by resort, price, and points. We’ve sold contracts in as little as 10 seconds (yes, really) — but some take longer. We’ll work to find a fair market buyer as quickly as possible.

Sale proceeds minus a $150 estoppel fee, our 9.5% commission (promotions may apply), and any outstanding dues, taxes, or liens. Buyers typically pay closing costs.
Usually 6–8 weeks from signed contract to completion. All paperwork can be handled by email — you don’t need to travel to Florida.

Renting a DVC Villa

Around $20 per point on average. Your total depends on resort, season, and room type.
Our availability search tool makes it easy to see what’s open and how many points you’ll need.

Costs & Fees

No. You’ll pay your purchase price, closing costs, and annual dues. If you finance, your lender may have separate loan costs.
Typically $517–$777 depending on the purchase price. Your agent can give an exact figure for each listing.
Sometimes. Some sellers are firm; others are open to offers. We’ll advise you if an offer is unlikely to pass Disney’s Right of First Refusal (ROFR).

Right of First Refusal (ROFR)

Right of First Refusal (ROFR) is a standard part of buying resale DVC points. It is the process where Disney reviews the contract before the sale is finalized.

Disney Vacation Development, LLC (the parent organization that owns and operates the DVC program) is given a Right of First Refusal, which may be waived, allowing the package to be resold to a new owner, or exercised, allowing Disney Vacation Development, LLC (to be referenced as “Disney”) to buy back the package.

They are granted this ROFR when a package enters into a contract for sale to a new owner.

If the ROFR is exercised, Disney reacquires sold-out inventory and resells it at current direct prices. This is often referred to as a “buy-back.”

When they decide to reacquire this inventory, it also helps maintain stability in the secondary market, ensuring that packages retain strong resale potential if an owner decides to sell in the future, building long-term value for DVC Members.

When the ROFR is waived, the resale transaction can continue.

In our 30+ years in business less than 10% of the DVC resale contracts we’ve sold were bought back through Disney’s Right of First Refusal (ROFR). In 2025, that number was less than 4% of our company’s sales. Overall, the likelihood that your desired contract will be taken under ROFR is relatively low.

That said, ROFR activity can fluctuate based on market conditions, demand, pricing trends, and Disney’s current direct sales incentives. There are periods when Disney is more aggressive, and other times when they are more lenient.

Your sales associate monitors these trends closely and can help guide you on competitive pricing and strategy to minimize the risk of Disney exercising ROFR.

DVC Points Management

You can bank points into the next Use Year (deadlines vary by Use Year month). Banked points can’t be banked again.
Up to 3 years at once by banking current points and borrowing from the next year.
No, but you can borrow from the next year.
