DVC Resale Update: New Transfer Fee Appears on Disney’s Website
A surprising update appeared last night on the Disney Vacation Club website under the Resale FAQs. The site now states that starting January 1, 2026, Disney Vacation Club Management, LLC will charge a $500 contract administration fee for all resale contract closings.
This new language has caught many people off guard. Disney has not made any official announcement to resale brokers, title companies, or DVC Members. Even the teams at Member Administration do not have clear details. When we contacted them directly, we were told our questions had been “sent to upper management,” but no answers have been provided yet.
To better understand this new fee, we have asked Disney several important questions:
- Who will be responsible for the $500 fee — the buyer or the seller?
- Is this fee in addition to the current $150 estoppel fee the seller already pays, or is it replacing that fee?
- Will this new fee affect contracts already submitted for ROFR or any contracts submitted before January 1, 2026?
So far, Member Administration has not been able to clarify any of these points, which makes this update especially unusual. The lack of communication from Disney has created understandable confusion within the resale community.
We will continue to reach out for answers. As soon as Disney provides an official explanation or confirms how this new fee will be applied, we will share the update right away.
