Is Trading DVC Points for Interval International Worth It?
Lately, I’ve had a few clients reach out asking about Interval International—mainly wondering how it compares to Disney Vacation Club (DVC), how easy it is to book, and how many nights you can actually get. These are great questions, and before diving in, I always recommend giving DVC Member Services a call. They can walk you through the basics and help you understand what to expect.
But the question I get the most?
“Would you recommend using Interval International?”
Honestly—yes. Based on my own experience, I’d absolutely say give it a try.

Trying Something New
While I usually use my points at DVC Resorts, I decided to mix things up and exchange my points for a stay through Interval International. I ended up at Kindred Resort in Keystone, Colorado—a small ski town just outside Breckenridge.
The town was charming, and the resort? Fantastic. Whether you’re an experienced skier or someone like me who celebrated conquering the bunny slope, there’s something for everyone. Snow and I aren’t exactly best friends, but I still had a great time trying something new.

That said, Keystone isn’t just for snow lovers. In the warmer months, Keystone transforms into a hub for hiking, biking, fishing, and kayaking. Personally, I’m eyeing a return trip during their Bacon & Bourbon Festival (yes, that’s a real thing!). I mean, who can say no to bacon and bourbon?
The Exchange Process
For this trip, I used my 160-point Saratoga Springs contract to book a full week in a one-bedroom villa. I traveled with two friends, and we were surprised by how spacious the villa was—actually larger than a one-bedroom at Walt Disney World.
Booking was easy. Since it was my first time exchanging through Interval, I reached out to both DVC Member Services and Interval International. They helped every step of the way. These days, much of the process can be handled by logging into your Interval International account and searching for available resorts once you’ve transferred your points.

A Few Tips Before You Book
If you’re thinking about trying an exchange, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Do your research: Not every resort in Interval will match the quality or space of a DVC villa.
- Stick with trusted brands: Resorts affiliated with names like Hilton or Marriott tend to meet or exceed expectations. Since Marriott now owns Interval International, that opens a wide door of options under the Marriott Vacation Worldwide umbrella.
- Check for updates: Resorts are added and removed from the platform each year, so what’s available today might not be around next year.
Whether you’re headed back to your favorite Disney resort or ready to explore somewhere new with Interval, I hope your next vacation is nothing short of magical. And who knows—maybe I’ll see you at the Bacon & Bourbon Festival!
