The Most Affordable Way to Buy Into the Disney Vacation Club

Buying into Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is a dream for many Disney fans—but the upfront cost can feel overwhelming. The good news? Not all DVC resorts are priced the same. In fact, some resorts offer a very affordable entry point, especially when you purchase on the resale market.

If your goal is to enjoy DVC ownership without overspending, this guide highlights the best entry-level DVC resorts that offer strong value, lower buy-in costs, and real flexibility.

1. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

Lowest Cost Per Point

If your main priority is the lowest possible entry price, Vero Beach is hard to beat. On the resale market, contracts often sell for $38–$50 per point, making it one of the most affordable ways to become a DVC member.

Vero Beach is located on Florida’s Atlantic coast, about two hours from Walt Disney World. While it’s not inside the theme park bubble, it offers a beautiful beachfront setting with classic Disney service.

If you purchase at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, you are not limited to staying at that resort only. As a Disney Vacation Club Member, your points can be used to stay at other eligible DVC properties. When you purchase a resale contract, you have access to the 14 original DVC resorts, including resorts at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Grand Californian in California, Hilton Head, and Aulani in Hawai‘i.

The only DVC resorts not available to resale members are Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness.

Things to know:

  • Vero Contract expiration: 2042
  • Annual dues are higher than the other DVC resorts at $14.89 per point.
  • Great for repeat, non-park vacations
  • Amazing Private Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Beach Cottages available

Best for: Buyers who want the cheapest possible entry into DVC ownership. The trade-off with a Vero Beach purchase is that the annual dues are higher; however, you save significantly on the purchase price.

2. Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort

Another Affordable Disney Beach Alternative

Hilton Head Island is another excellent value option. Resale prices typically range from $55–$65 per point, keeping the upfront cost very manageable.

Located in South Carolina, this resort delivers a calm, family-friendly atmosphere with a strong Disney feel—just without the theme parks nearby.

Things to know:

  • Hilton Head Contract expiration: 2042
  • Also great for repeat, non-park vacations (golf, tennis, bike riding, beach, shopping, dining)
  • The annual dues are also a bit higher than the other DVC resorts at $12.86 per point.

Best for: Families who love Disney quality and want a low-cost option, and to have an occasional non-theme-park getaway.

3. Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Lowest-Cost Walt Disney World Resort

If buying a DVC property located at Walt Disney World is important to you, Old Key West is one of the most economical DVC options available in Orlando. Resale prices for 2042 contracts typically range from $78 to $85 per point. Contracts that have been extended to 2057 generally sell for a bit more, averaging $85 to $95 per point.

Old Key West offers spacious villas, low nightly point rates, a laid-back atmosphere, and convenient boat access to Disney Springs.

Things to know:

  • Old Key West Contract expiration: 2042
  • Features some of the largest villas in DVC, while costing less than many newer resorts.
  • Excellent availability due to the larger size of the resort

Best for: Buyers who want to own at Walt Disney World at the lowest possible cost.

4. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Best Long-Term Entry-Level Value

Saratoga Springs is often considered one of the best overall values in DVC. While resale prices are slightly higher—typically $90–$100 per point—the contract runs until 2054, offering nearly 30 years of ownership.

Located next to Disney Springs, Saratoga Springs combines on-property convenience with a long contract and stable dues.

Things to know:

  • Saratoga Springs Contract expiration: 2054
  • Larger resort which offers flexible availability
  • Strong balance of price, location, and longevity

Best for: Buyers who want a smart entry-level purchase with long-term value.

Which Entry-Level DVC Resort Is Right for You?

The most economical DVC resort depends on what matters most to you:

  • Lowest upfront cost: Vero Beach
  • Affordable Disney beach resort: Hilton Head Island
  • Cheapest Walt Disney World option: Old Key West (2042)
  • Best long-term value: Saratoga Springs

If your main goal is simply getting into Disney Vacation Club for the lowest possible price, Vero Beach leads the pack. However, if you want a balance of affordability, contract length, and Disney World access, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West are often the best entry-level choices.
