The Magic of Walt Disney World

The Magic of Walt Disney World

Vacations are a time of excitement, adventure, and fun for the whole family and what better way to experience it than by visiting Walt Disney World? This iconic destination promises a variety of wonderful family experiences and lifelong memories.  Below are the must do things when you visit Walt Disney World.

The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is the most magical place on earth and the most photographed. As you make your way to the Magic Kingdom anticipation fills the air. Arriving either by Monorail, bus, boat, or by foot the front gates of Magic Kingdom await. The sight of Cinderella’s Castle gleaming in the morning sun sets the stage for magic that lies ahead and where fairy tales come to life.

The day will be filled with nostalgic rides, like Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, it’s a Small World, the Peoplemover, and Haunted Mansion to name a few. Then when it’s time for a break, you’ll be able to watch the beloved 3 o’clock parade with Disney characters and the grand marshal Mickey Mouse. You can also indulge in some treats like Mickey-shaped ice cream bars, churros, or even the world-famous turkey leg. Then as the sun goes down you will see the Magic Kingdom transform into a stunning light extravaganza with countless lights that enhance the magic of the park. And before your day is over, it’s time to watch the breathtaking fireworks, lasers, and projection technology of Happily Ever After. The fireworks can be seen anywhere within the park, but in front of Cinderella’s Castles may be the best place to watch the show.

Exploring EPCOT

EPCOT is a must if you are looking for an adventure to indulge. This unique park celebrates innovation, culture, and global unity, offering a feast for the senses at every turn. You can embark on a journey through the World Showcase, sampling cuisine and beverages from around the world and immersing yourselves in the diverse cultures of each country.

In Future World, you can tackle thrilling attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy (be sure to get virtual queue for this one), Test Track, and Soarin and then stroll through lush gardens bursting with colors and fragrances during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival (ending May 27th) amongst the many festivals throughout the year. Then after a day of fun, food, and drinks, it’s time to pick a spot around the World Showcase Lagoon to witness the spectacular “Luminous the Symphony of Us”, the new mesmerizing fusion of music, fireworks, and lights.

Adventures in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is where the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown collide with the magic of Disney. When you arrive, you step into the golden age of cinema as you stroll down Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard both lined with great shopping, dining, and Disney magic. There are many immersive attractions at the Studios like Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Toy Story Mania to name a few.

Then as evening falls, prepare for Fantasmic! It’s a mesmerizing spectacle that weaves together music, water effects, and beloved Disney characters in a battle of light versus darkness. Get there early because seating is limited and it will fill up.

Wild Adventures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a lush oasis where adventure and conservation intertwine. Once you step foot into the park, you are completely immersed.  You can embark on a safari expedition through the African savanna, encountering lions, towering giraffes, and playful elephants. You can take a walking trek through Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek where you can see gorillas and majestic tigers. There are so many animal sanctuaries throughout the park where you can spend the entire day watching different species interacting with you or each other. But don’t spend too much time, because you need to journey into the heart of Pandora – The World of Avatar, to see the towering floating mountains and ride one of the best attractions on Disney property, Avatar Flight of Passage. Also don’t miss seeing Pandora at night, as this amazing world turns into a bioluminescent world with pathways that glow.  The lights at night in Pandora are breathtaking.

Recharge and Rejuvenate

A word to the wise, the best advice one could give anyone visiting Walt Disney World is be sure to take at least one or two days of rest in-between all the park days. These rest days allow you to recharge both physically and mentally and after all the exploring and indulging, the twists and turns on rides, and immersing yourself into all kinds of cultures and experiences, taking a break is a must. The “rest day” gives your body and mind the opportunity to recover before tackling more.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, they offer a wealth of amenities that cater to relaxation and retreat.  From luxurious pools and spas to scenic walking trails and recreational activities, spending a day at your resort allows you to make the most of your vacation. If you don’t incorporate this rest day on a Disney vacation, you will go home exhausted from your vacation.
