DVC Highlights for 2024

Happy New Year’s, everyone! We’ve officially made it another year!

So, what does the new year have in store for new and existing DVC members? Here are a few likely DVC highlights coming in 2024.

More Moonlight Magic

Are you a fan of the after-hours events at Disney theme parks?

You’re in for a treat in 2024. Disney will offer more Moonlight Magic than we’ve ever experienced in the past.

As part of Membership Extras, Disney opens one of the parks exclusively for DVC members. You gain access to a Disney Park at a time when it’s otherwise closed to guests.

In 2024, DVC has confirmed eight different Moonlight Magic dates.  This averages one Moonlight Magic every six weeks. In order to attend a Moonlight Magic event, your DVC membership must qualify (you would need to have the “Blue Card” or incidental benefits).

If you don’t have the incidental benefits AKA Member Perks, someone who does can invite you as one of their guests. DVC allows up to five guests per Moonlight Magic visit.

New Disney Offerings

The reason why most of us buy into the DVC membership program is to spend time with loved ones at Disney while saving money on your accommodations.

The great news is Disney improves the parks regularly so with each visit there is typically something new and exciting to see or do.

As an example, Disney has built all the following since the summer of 2018:

  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Toy Story Land
  • Tron Lightcycle / Run

And that’s just the new offerings at Walt Disney World! Disneyland has added its own version of Runaway Railway and opened WEBSLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

The parks also rebooted Mickey’s Toontown, San Fransokyo, and Adventureland Treehouse.

Someone who hasn’t visited the parks since the start of 2018 would barely even recognize them.

In 2024, we’ll get even more as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park.

While the change has proven somewhat divisive among fans, the illustrations for the new attraction hint at a hallmark Imagineering triumph.

Of course, DVC members will find other new developments as well…

A New Resort

During the past five years, DVC has opened Disney’s Riviera Resort, converted Big Pine Key at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and added a new expansion tower.

They have also opened The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, which joined the DVC library in September 2023 and they are working on an expansion tower to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

These new accommodations will add hundreds of new Studios and Villas to the program’s inventory. Somehow, that’s not even the best part.

During the annual 2023 Condominium Association Meeting, a DVC official surprised owners with a welcome piece of news. The upcoming expansion tower at the Polynesian will fall under the current Condominium Association agreement at the resort.

In other words, some of the people reading this already own DVC Points at the upcoming Polynesian expansion tower!

Disney will handle this opening the same way it did with Big Pine Key. DVC added the new inventory into the previous contract agreement.

So, the Big Pine Key rooms were part of the prior DVC contracts at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Similarly, the expansion tower rooms at the Polynesian Resort will be part of the existing condo association! It’s the best news possible!

Another New Resort!

Somehow, that’s not even the only addition coming to the DVC program in 2024.

In fact, another one will arrive first. During the summer of 2024, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will debut. The first guest check in dates will   July 1st  with sales beginning February 1st.

Disney will be removing the old Cabins at Fort Wilderness Campground, as some of them dated back to the 1970s. In their place, Disney has modernized the resort with new state-of-the-art Cabins.

Here is what we know so far about the new Cabins at Fort Wilderness.
